~ In Loving Memory ~
Rev. Dr. Paul Joseph Skok
Vice President of Global Outreach Connection
11/3/1947 – 9/28/2015
Paul spent his younger years growing up in Tarrytown, New York , then Spencer , Indiana and later moved to the Denver Metropolitan area. He received degrees at Purdue University, Ball State University, and the University of Denver Law School. After his graduation from Law School he opened his own Law practice, and published a book for trial attorney’s of which he was extremely proud of – “Trial Attorney’s Guide To Insurance Coverage And Bad Faith” a Personal Injury Library.
Because Paul was an overachiever he also became a Dive Master and Reiki Master.
Paul was an advocate for personal growth where he spent over twelve years facilitation PSI leadership seminars helping hundreds of people realize their dream and potential. What Paul mostly enjoyed was helping other people and making a difference in the world he thoroughly enjoyed.
His love and dedication to peace, love, and growth of the spirit spurred his interest in his next endeavor. Paul graduated with a Masters Degree in Consciousness Studies from Holmes Institute and a Doctorate Degree from Emerson Institute shortly thereafter, approximately 4 1/2 years ago. Holmes Institute is an incredible 3 year commitment to achieve one’s Masters Degree of challenging studies followed by 5 discipline exams in World Religions, Science, Philosophy, Psychology and Education and Teaching. All course work and exams must be passed in order to obtain your Masters degree, after which you become a licensed Minister. In other religions this qualifies you to be an Ordained Minister immediately but in the Centers for Spiritual Living, you still must serve for a minimum of two or more years, in dedicated service, in order to qualify for your Ordination panels. Paul served in so many incredible loving ways during those next two years and onwards: To name just a few: He founded, with Rev. Barbara Rush, Global Outreach Connections, a ministry which now holds the Ministerial licenses of 11 Ministers and 8 Practitioners. Before Paul entered Barbara’s previous ministry, Global Ministries, she was one Minister and the resulting Global Outreach Connection expanded through his guidance and administration skills. Their mission was to provide “spiritual tools for personal and global transformation”.
During Ministerial School, Rev. Paul was invited to join Global Services, the Centers for Spiritual Living’s department in charge of managing and directing all activities outside of the US and Canada, of which there Centers and Study Groups extended from Russia to Jamaica, to Africa and beyond to Asia. He facilitated all the English language conference calls which often linked up England, Russia, Costa Rica and Australia and beyond. His dedication and diligence in organizing and facilitating these calls was a calling and a gift to our world ministry. Most importantly, Paul served as a beacon of light in his vision to join Outreach International in implementing a huge food drive for Tanzania and Kenya for Global Services at Mile Hi Church some years back. This project was beyond most people’s ability to comprehend as the scope and dimension of what it entailed could only be facilitated by a person like our Rev. Dr. Paul Joseph Skok. To watch those hundreds of boxes being packed and later shipped opened everyone’s hearts to what is possible if you have the vision and the commitment and dedication to achieve it. That was our Paul.
But it didn’t end there. Centers for Spiritual Living, our International Headquarters, knew of Paul’s expertise in law, and invited him to participate in their legal counsel team in running our huge organization. His expertise of the law and his profound love for Science of Mind, made the perfect challenging, questioning voice of Paul, as a very valued asset to the team. As one member said, Paul was always that voice of vision, thinking out of the box, bigger and greater than the rest of what was possible, and they are grateful for all his contributions in yet another aspect of his ministry.
